What's Happening
As we close our school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on our journey together — the experiments, the challenges, the discoveries, and, yes, even the explosions in the lab.
Science is about curiosity — about asking questions and never settling for “just because.” This year, you’ve asked some brilliant questions, challenged assumptions, and shown resilience when things didn’t go quite as planned. And as your teacher, nothing has made me prouder than seeing you grow into critical thinkers and compassionate learners.
Whether we were dissecting owl pellets, exploring the mysteries of mold, or the structures of snails, I hope I’ve done more than teach you facts — I hope I’ve helped you see the world a little differently. Because science isn't just a subject; it's a lens through which we understand everything from the tiniest cells to the furthest stars.
And finally, as you're heading off to middle school, remember: science is not about having all the answers. It's about being brave enough to ask the next question.
Thank you for a fantastic year, and stay curious!

Welcome to Dennis Ortwein Elementary School Room C 212
